Amen to that scripture. You and your family have had such exciting experiences.

Johnny recently went with friend and neighbor in his small plane. It was interesting said he, but when John made a quick turn and he went to the side, Johnny grabbing as he wasn't expecting that turn. He was glad for the opportunity but didn't care to try again!

The Lord made the rest of the trip (path) straight as John realized that Johnny wasn't exactly comfortable with that turn

Love it Pastor Jolly! BTW, I didn't know you played the accordian............or do you just hug it? LOL Hey you're right about the hugs, especially in our church. I get lots of real bear hugs from my Dody. Sometimes they result in an adjustment of my neck or back......that is a double pleasure that feels so good!

Keep them coming, you and Mrs. J are just so huggable!

Thank you for these uplifting blogs. You make my day when I read them. And I read them several at a time, sometimes even reading them over again!

Very interesting description. Tom and I were just there. We disembarked from a cruise ship in what is now called Puerto Limon and took a bus to San Jose. It was to be a 2.5 to 3 hour drive that turned into 5 hours because of a strike that blocked the ONLY road for a while. Still, after all these years, there is only one road from Limon to San Jose. It's a beautiful drive along a very winding road through those mountains over which you all flew. The port has grown, I'm sure, since you were there but it is still very poor. The wealth of the cruise ships does not spread far from the docks except to "chosen" shopping for the most part.

Thanks for sharing.

That brought back some memories for me. And a couple of years ago we went on vacation to N.C. It was a beautiful spot, with a very old cabin that had been loaned to us. I have to admit we didn't know what we were getting into. Very, Very rustic, and a hard freeze came the night we got there, no water, no facilities, no heater and nothing to cut wood for the fireplace. We slept in our clothes and coats and scarves etc.

The next day we went for a walk and walked across the fast running, spring fed branch, crossing on a very old bridge. As we wandered we came upon an old outhouse. When I explained to our daughter that it was what we had told her about in our childhood, she was so grossed out she wouldn't go near it, tho it was so unused for so many years it was about to fall down. What an experience.

By the way, I think you should construct one for your garden, what a conversation piece and the young folks could get the real feel of olden days!

I can sure remember the days of not being able to "keep up with the Jones'". It seems to me that it is a part of our gradual incline to "going from milk to the meat of God's Word" At the time it seems sooooooo important, like it could be the end of the world if we can't get those THINGS that are so important at the time.
