Lawson writes . . . sharing thoughts and memories

What’s coming up in 2010?

Filed under: Uncategorized — lawsonjolly @ 7:32 am

On this first day of 2010, I want to thank the many of you that are reading my blogs.  I am enjoying writing each day about something that has touched my life.  Some writings that  will be posted are stories that many of you have read in some of my books.

Many of you have responded to my request to let me know how broad is the readership and I thank you.  I also have realized that some of you may be hesitant because you do not even want your initials to show up in the comment box.  I respect that, and I have removed the listing of all comments.  You can no longer know how many comments come or what was posted.  I have the privilege to see and read them, but I am respectful of your privacy.  Also, I do not write to draw a debate.  One link came where the individual was quite adamant about my information on  Stone Mountain.  I respect his opinion and give him the right to disagree–in this case, the privilege to be wrong!  I refused to be drawn into an argument.

So, could I appeal to you?  Would you in response to some blog, simply place your initials and the state where you live  in the comment box?  I am thanking you in advance, and will not bother you again with the matter.

What am I going to be writing about in this new year?  Tomorrow, probably, I will write about a rescue at the quarry.  I will share a word about almost drowning as a boy and how I was saved.  I will then follow-up to the question why everyone is not rescued or saved from certain dangers in their lives.  I plan to write about Clarkston, GA and the ethnic change in that city.  I will especially address how Clarkston High School has changed from the days I attended.  I will probably  talk about the fruit trees in our yard;  Judy and the granddaughters; being wise and foolish; Penshurst; possum hunting ( I know it has an O in front, but I’m from Georgia and we forget the O); an elevator fall; Coca Cola; Jolly Store; a Halloween mask; Tarpon Springs, FL; my first date.  You can see I already have more buzzing in my head than I can write at one time.  So stay tuned.  Hopefully, there will be something to interest you.

Again, thanl you for your responses.  My prayer for you, even though I may not know you personally, is that you will have the most blessed year in 2010 that you have ever experienced!

“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 4:19)

  1. I’m glad you’re doing this. I promise, I’m not the one who argued with your Stone Mt facts! My Dad taught me that Father knows best! Ha!

  2. I had the pleasure of meeting you last Sunday at the Ridge Manor Baptist Church. My wife and I enjoyed your sermon and we look forward to seeing you again this coming Sunday.

The stories on your website are so entertaining and I look forward to reading them all.
